This meat and grain-free blend is the perfect pre-mix for dogs with common protein and grain allergies. Preference offers a combination of vegetables, fruits and herbs, suggested for use with added raw meat, meaty bones or cooked meat of your preference (never cooked bones), as a base for a home-made diet.
Preference contains a custom vitamin-mineral premix with balanced calcium: phosphorus ratios, which are vital for the maintenance of health cells, bones and blood. This recipe is ideal for dogs who are sensitive to more popular meats and grains. You add your own exotic meats, fish or alternative protein sources as needed.
Preference is intended for supplemental feeding only, and has NOT been developed to meet AAFCO nutrient profiles or provide a complete & balanced diet when fed alone. Meats may be added to Preference at a rate of one to one, to two to one depending on the age, breed and level of activity of your pet.

Feeding Guidelines:
The Honest Kitchen's dehydrated foods must be hydrated with warm water, before serving. Each 7 pound re-closeable box of food will make just over 4 times its weight in fresh food, when hydrated.
The following daily amounts (DRY quantity) should be adjusted to suit your individual dog's requirements, which vary according to age, breed and level of daily activity.
Up to 10 lbs - 1/2 Cup
Up to 30 lbs - 1 Cup
Up to 50 lbs - 2 Cups
Up to 70 lbs - 2 1/4 Cups
Up to 90 lbs - 2 3/4 Cups
A full standard US Measuring Cup of dehydrated Preference Dog Food (which is 8 oz by volume or 4 oz by weight) will hydrate to make about 1lb of fresh food. Half to one cup of extra meat or other ingredients should be mixed in with each cup of Preference, once hydrated.
