Nutrition
Homemade, complete & balanced, fresh meat-based diets are the most nutritious and delicious meals you can feed your dog.

A dog's natural diet primarily prey animals with small amounts of eggs, nuts, vegetables, and fruits is still the healthiest diet.

A dogs natural diet consists primarily of fresh raw meats not canned, frozen, or extruded. Processing, especially the high temperature high-pressure extrusion of dry foods, is harsh on nutrients. With high-temperature cooking, protein structures are changed, some fats oxidized, all enzymes destroyed, most vitamins reduced, and many minerals become less available.

Fresh meats are tastier and more nutritious than frozen meats because the cell walls are still intact. Therefore the nutrients and flavors are not released until your dog eats.

Why use See Spot Live Longer?
Because all-muscle meat diets, and even meat and bone diets, do not provide all the nutrients, including iron, copper, manganese, zinc, iodine, thiamine, and vitamins D and E that all dogs need. These nutrients are even more important for puppies.

A dogs natural diet includes mineral-rich parts of animals bones, head, glands, organs, digestive tract, blood that are often not available to those who make their own foods. Our dinner mixes contain mineral- rich foods and quality supplements to ensure the optimum amounts of minerals from both a natural or prey-model diet perspective, and following the recommendations from the National Research Council (2006, Nutrient Requirements of Dogs and Cats) and AAFCO nutrient profiles.

How to use See Spot Live Longer:
For the tastiest dog food ever: lightly cook the meat over medium heat for a few minutes. Let it cool for a minute or two, pour in our See Spot Live Longer Homemade Dinner Mix, mix and serve. We think your dog will agree the tastiest dog food ever.

Note to raw feeders See Spot Live Longer Homemade Dinner Mixes are formulated to mix with raw or lightly cooked meats. Some dogs, during stressful occasions like agility, obedience and conformation events, are reluctant to eat. For these events, lightly cook the meat, keeping it raw in the middle. The scent of the cooked meat will get your dogs attention, and shell eat with gusto.

Our Ingredients, Your Ingredients:
You add the meat, and we give you everything necessary to meet all accepted standards for the micronutrient content of dog foods for all life stages.

You can add only the meat and have a great meal. Or, if desired at times, you can add, up to 20% by volume of the meal, freshly ground nuts, vegetables, sardines and other whole foods. (Adding sardines to all types of dog foods is especially important for pregnant and lactating moms).

Our Ingredients:
Product: mix for 1 lb. ground beef, chicken and lamb in a single-use, oxygen and moisture barrier bag which ensures freshness.

Ingredients: ground flax seed, dicalcium phosphate, porcine liver meal (preserved with natural mixed tocopherols), dried kelp, dried spinach, tomato pomace, calcium carbonate, canola oil, rice bran, sea salt, inulin, fish oil, sage, zinc polysaccharide complex, -tocopherol acetate, copper polysaccharide complex, tocopherols, manganese polysaccharide complex, thiamine, Vitamin D3 supplement.

Your Ingredients:
We recommend mixing See Spot Live Longer Homemade Dinner Mixes with 85% lean meats beef, chicken, turkey, lamb, venison and others. For puppies, who need more protein, we recommend using 90% lean meats. Feed a variety of meats for optimum nutrition.

Serve the meat raw or cooked. Either way, it makes a nutritious, mineral-rich, AAFCO-compliant, high-protein, low-carbohydrate, natural diet.

If youre using fattier meats, please follow the feeding guidelines below. Fattier meats have more calories per pound than leaner meats. Dogs, though, still need the same amount of micronutrients whether theyre fed fatty or lean diets. Therefore, when feeding fattier meats, please mix the package with less food, and feed your dog less food.

80% lean: mix one package (34 grams) with 3/4 pound of meat. Feed 3/4 of recommended amounts on package.

75% lean: mix one package (34 grams) with 2/3 pounds of meat. Feed 2/3 of recommended amounts on package.
