Halloween Photo Contest Entry: Scooter The Scarecrow

Posted on October 20, 2011 | 1 comment

Hello.

I am Scooter the Scarecrow on the Yellow Brick Road.  I am a rescue from West Virginia and not sure what my mom and dad were.  But now I live in Pennsylvania and have a lot of fun playing on the farm.  It has chickens, and kittys, and a pond I can swim in.  I am a country boy at heart, and I always have a smile on my face, unless I am scaring crows.

Halloween Photo Contest Entry: Jiji The Prestigious Peacock

Posted on October 19, 2011 | 2 comments

This is my baby girl JiJi. She is a 2 years old Bulldog Boxer mix that I got when she was just  4 months old. I am a single professional who lives in New Jersey and my whole world revolves around this girl, I would be lost with out her. I hope you and others will enjoy this picture of her dressed as a "Prestigious Peacock". This costume was hand made and sewn for her by my retired mother who lives in florida. My dog and my sisters dog are my mothers "grand daughters" and she enjoys making their halloween costume since last year along with some christmas outfits too. She was thrilled when I asked her to make Jiji a peacock. I have always been admirable of the peacock because of their gorgeous feathers and the way they carry themselves. I think of Jiji the exact same way. Beautiful inside and out. Her loveable and puppy playful personality makes her loved by anyone who meets her. She can be super energetic at one point to play with people and dogs alike, and at the same time she can be the most mellow and gentle dog to just cuddle with me on the couch when I've had a long day. She is my best friend and has gotten me through a lot of tough times. She can always make me laugh with her funny personality wether she is chasing balls all over the house, barking at the tv if a dog is on screen or scratching her back on the carpet. She is very intelligent and knows many tricks, but best of all I'm sure she loves putting on the different costumes I have put on her and made her pose for the camera. She is very photogenic and I love everything about her, especially her adorable face! I hope everyone else can fall in love too and vote for her to win this photo contest. It would be greatly appreciated by her and I both. Good luck to everyone else as well.

Halloween Photo Contest Entry: Morgan The Big Bird

Posted on October 19, 2011 | 0 comments

This is Morgan. I made her costume out of a baby onsie with Big Bird in mind, although she has wound up looking more like a chicken. Morgan is a 2 1/2 year old Bijon/Yorkie mix, and an incredibly sweet dog... in public! At home, she likes to make sure I know she's the boss, and is not at all shy about demanding playtime and cuddles, even if it means jumping into my lap and using her paw to give me a sturdy swat to the chest! She's knows she's cute, and uses it to get what she wants, whether that be a taste of Mom's dinner, or attention from her human (and dog) friends at the park. Luckily for me, she's also extremely patient and tolerant when "Mom" wants to dress her up in clothes and costumes.

Halloween Photo Contest Entry: Kodi The Squirrel

Posted on October 19, 2011 | 1 comment

This is a picture of our son Kodi-Robert Maldonado, 3-1/2 years of age. He is wearing a squirrel costume.

We have had our son Kodi from birth.  He is a graduate of Puppy Kindergarten.
Kodi has been a pet therapy dog with Paws for Friendship, Inc. for the past 2 years.

He is a ham and doesn't have a mean bone in his body.  He loves to be picked up and carried like a baby. He loves to lick and make everyone happy.

He is good and overly friendly to everyone he meets including children and other animals. He is finicky with his food, which means he loves his warm apple cinnamon oatmeal in the morning and for dinner he loves his dinner Microwaved warm with either shredded cheese, match stick carrots or green peas. Kodi loves to go for walks in the park, ride in the car and chase after squirrels (that is why we decided to dress him like one).

He enjoys visiting Children's homes and nursing homes. When his brother Kojak (Cocktail Bird) gets too noisy, Kodi will go to the bathroom and slam the door to get some peace and quiet.

Kodi works hard by guarding our house when we are not home.  He sits on daddy's recliner when we are not home and watches Cartoons and even manages to take a few naps. He loves to cuddle and take naps with his mommy on the couch,  but once its bedtime he runs to cuddle with daddy in bed.

Kodi is a blessing to all who meet him!

Halloween Photo Contest Entry: Clemopatra

Posted on October 19, 2011 | 1 comment

This is "Clemopatra" (also known as Clementine) getting ready with her "chariot" to attend the 2011 Pug Rescue of New England annual meet up. Clem was adopted in 2009 from Curly Tail Pug Rescue after spending the first five years of her life caged as a breeder in a puppy mill. Since her rescue and adoption she enjoys meeting up with other pugs, especially at activities that benefit animal rescue and adoption. Although her beginnings were rough, she now enjoys a happy life being treated like the "royalty" she is!

Pet's Name and Age: Clementine; 8 years old

This is Billy (Batman) and Bailey (Robin)

They are great sports each year when this holiday rolls around. Billy (5) is the more chill, pleaser dog of the two. His favorite thing is swimming. Bailey (2) is a little younger and much more hyper. She is the more happy go lucky of the two...she will do anything for attention and her favorite thing is definitely getting that attention. These two pups love life and love being together. Happy Halloween!!!
